One VERY wet day here at Brands with red flags for almost every race of the day. In the Touring car 15 minute warm up first thing in the morning, 3 cars (the KAYE brothers and Hamish IRVINE) followed each other into the Druids gravel trap so the session had to be stopped to clear up. The Honda's performed very poorly this weekend in the rain for both races.

CLELAND set the fasted lap in the pre-race warm up session with 1:37.304.

Race 1 (round 11) was red flagged after several laps after Tim SUGDEN rolled the car at clearways ending upside down on the roof. Fortunately he escaped unhurt but this was the end of the weekend for him. THOMPSON and a Volvo hit down the Cooper Straight and went off after contact between Druids and Graham hill. James made it back to the pits and returned for several laps but retired shortly after. Fastest lap went to CLELAND with 1:42.12 on lap 10.

Race 2 was the best/worst (delete as applicable) - 2 reds but loads of action in the third part! This was to Radisich's advantage as he was at the back of the grid with a 10 sec. penalty for failing to leave the pit lane in time. With the restart he was back to 6th position on the grid. The first stoppage was after someone tried to redesign the tire wall at Sterlings. Rikard RYDELL was the cause of the second one by rolling and ending up on his roof near Westfield and damaging about 30 ft. of tire wall in the process. The 3rd (and sucessful) part of this round was the best I ever remember watching. CLELAND took the lead from the beginning followed by THOMPSON followed very closely by MENU. There was never more than a few seconds separating them at any one time although CLELAND was slowly pulling away from the others. On the very last lap when THOMPSON was going round Druids HARVEY in the Volvo came and hit him hard up the back which looked very deliberate from my vantage point. This put the Cavalier sideways round the slippery hairpin but he caught it and managed to keep his second place that was strongly challenged at Graham Hill by the Renault. Fastest lap went to Alain MENU with 1:44.45 on lap 2.
