Disappointment for Team PSP despite setting fastest lap
Rounds 22, 23, 24, Brands Hatch Indy circuit, 22 August

Team PSP was in contention for a podium place in round 23 and set the fastest lap in round 24 - but came away from the weekend with little reward for their strong performance. An uncharacteristic error by Watson Smith sidelined him in round 23 after a fine start from third on the grid and while making his way through the pack in the final race of the day a wheel-banging incident caused his retirement with steering problems. Fariqe's ever-improving racecraft saw him post a best lap just 0.6 seconds shy of his team-mate's fastest lap of the race in round 24 but he too was forced to retire.

Results:
Fariqe Hairuman (Car 15)
Shaun Watson Smith (Car 20)
Qualifying:
20th (Accident during qualifying session)
11th ( 49.799, +0.467 from pole)
Round 22
17th (+1 lap)
8th (+15.623, 5 seconds behind 3rd place finisher)
Round 23
14th
DNF (running 3rd)
Round 24
DNF (14 laps, best lap 0.6 off fastest lap, set by Watson-Smith)
DNF (17 laps, up to 12th from 19th on grid, set fastest lap)

Fariqe Hairuman: "This was a tough weekend but I'm happy to be making progress. I'm making better use of the data to find more speed as shown by my fastest lap just 0.6 seconds off Shaun's fastest lap of round 24."

Shaun Watson Smith: " We had a great first race which got us into third place on the grid for the second race. The podium was on and then the back end got away from me and I was out - really frustrating. I had to work my way through the pack in the final race and was pleased to set fastest lap. Then I suffered steering damage in a wheel-banging incident while I was passing Collard and was forced to retire. Fastest lap is great but it's small reward for us."

Mike Carroll (Chief Engineer): "This was a disappointing weekend which had promised some good results. Our race strategy was working with a good grid position for Round 23 followed by a great start. Shaun was on for a podium place and then made a small mistake on a part of the track where there's little margin for error - very unusual and unlucky. He was working his way up well in the final race and once again got sidelined. The positives are that Shaun set the fastest lap of the race and Fariqe is finding more speed too."

David Wong, (Team Principal): " I'm pleased that Fariqe is putting his growing experience into practice and going quicker. Shaun did a great job to secure fastest lap but the race results are still eluding us - overall it's been a frustrating weekend."
