Alfa Romeo Old Spice Racing =========================== New version of Alfa's reigning champion - the super-successful 155 incorporates wider front track and the ubiquitous new aero kit. Team is now run entirely in England under control of Prodrive's Steve Farrell, who was Giampiero Simoni's race engineer in '94.

BMW Team ======== The BMW 318 has already won the BTCC twice and the 1995 version of the 318i can be expected to live up to the record of its predecessors. BMW's factory BTCC effort has been switched from Team Schnitzer to BMW M Gmbh's own in-house team, based at the Nurburgring which, in the last two years, has won the German GT and Super Touring series.

Engine: 4-cylinder in-line 16v Engine Prep: BMW Motorsport Transmission: Holinger sequential, 6-speed Drive: Rear-wheel drive Tyres: Michelin Sponsors: Fina, Autosport

Team Mondeo =========== The Ford Mondeo is the in-form car, having beaten allcomers in the end-of-season FIA World Cup and the TOCA Shoot-out. And it is one of the cars that should benefit most from the new wing rules. Andy Rouse has retired from the driving seat to concentrate all his energies on engineering and team management. One of the pre-season favourites.

Engine: V6 24v Engine Prep: Cosworth Transmission: X-Trac sequential, 6-speed Drive: Front-wheel drive Tyres: Michelin Sponsors: Ford Credit, ICS, Savane, Simpson

Honda Team MSD ============== Honda jumps in at the deep end with a racer based on the Accords built in its UK plant at Swindon. MSD has long and successful history in rallying and has more recently built and developed the Opel Astra touring car which has proved a winner in Portugal and South Africa. MD David Whitehead heads the technical team, which includes former BRM F1 designer Mike Pilbeam.

Engine: 4-cylinder in-line 16v Engine Prep: MSD/Neil Brown Transmission: X-Trac sequential, 6-speed Drive: Front-wheel drive Tyres: Yokohama Sponsors: Selenia, Yokohama, Enny

Total Team Peugeot ================== Fourth year in the BTCC for the Peugeot 405 and it should gain much from new aero kit. Team is the only one in the series that is run from within the grounds of the manufacturer's factory. Basically a rally team when it joined the fray in 1992, it is constantly improving and looking for the best year yet.

Engine: 4-cylinder in-line 16v Engine Prep: Peugeot Sport Transmission: X-Trac sequential, 6-speed Drive: Front-wheel drive Tyres: Michelin Sponsors: Total Oil Great Britain Ltd, Peugeot Finance

Williams Renault Dealer Racing ============================== Renault's Laguna moves into fresh hands for 1995 as a new offshoot of the ultra-successful Williams GP squad moves into the BTCC to take charge of the French manufacturer's programme. The Laguna was one of the quickest cars in the second half of the 1994 series, with Alain Menu finishing the year in the runner-up position in the championship.

Engine: 4-cylinder in-line 16v Engine Prep: Sodemo Transmission: Hewland sequential, 6-speed Drive: Front-wheel drive Tyres: Michelin Sponsors: Renault, Elf, Adams Technology, Sodemo, Dupont, Snap-on, Auto Express

Team Toyota GB ============== Substantially revised programme for 1995, with greatly increased input from Japanese parent company. Toyota Team Europe has taken over build and development responsibilities from TOM's GB, which will continue to run the cars at the circuits. Looking to return to the form it showed in 1992, when Will Hoy narrowly missed winning the championship in a Carina.

Vauxhall Sport ============== The current Cavalier is in its sixth and last season of BTCC action and it's showing no signs of weakening. Ray Mallock Ltd is in charge of the Vauxhall Sport Programme for the second year, and it is hungary for success. RML is also responsible for Opel's Super Touring development, so overall the technical resources behind the Cavalier are more comprehensive that ever before. Don't under-estimate the old war-horse's final fling.

Volvo 850 Racing ================ Debut season for the Volvo 850 saloon, but a year's experience with the charismatic estates should prove invaluable. TWR has enormous resources and a formidable reputation. The team under its director Roger Sillman and chief designer John Gentry is packed with experience and expertise.

Mint Motorsport =============== New team created specially for Richard Kaye's BTCC debut by owners Brian Ellis and Paul Andrews. The team will be using a Ford Mondeo. Richard's father Peter Kaye will be in charge of engineering and team management. Peter has a long and successful motorsport history both as a hillclimb driver and engineer. He was one of the lynch-pins of the Dealer Opel Team rally squad and for the past three years has been centrally involved in the BTCC projects of his other son James.

Team Dynamics ============= Team Dynamics has been re-formed to run '93 privateer champion Matthew Neal in his bid for the Total Cup using the Rouse-built ex-Philippe Gache Ford Mondeo. Team Dynamics ran Matt during his successful '93 season and the experienced Roy Baker returns to his post as team manager after a year with Nissan.

Team HMSO Cavalier ================== Nigel Smith's enthusiastic and highly professional family-based team returns for another crack. It retains its ex-works Vauxhall cavalier, built by Ray Mallock in 1993 and aims to improve on the excellent second place in the Total Cup acheived by Smith in 1994, his series debut year.

Thames Ford Dealers/Evening Standard/Carphone Warehouse ======================================================= Team formed around ICE Motorsport's Ian Cross in 1994 to run Australian Charlie Cox in that year's National Saloon Car Cup for Group N cars. He won Class A driving a Ford Escort Cosworth. Now the ex-Paul Radisich 1994 FIA World Cup-winning Ford Mondeo has been acquired for a serious assault on the Total Cup.

Robb Gravett with RKR ===================== Experienced and effective little team run by Rot Kennedy. Ran John Llewellyn to BTCC class win in 1989. RKR has been active in the series ever since and ran Chris Goodwin to third place in 1994 Total Cup. The ex-works Vauxhall Cavalier built in 1993 by Dave Cook, which Goodwin used last year is retained and suspension guru Rhoddy Harvey-Baillie has joined the crew as race engineer.

Team Magic ========== Dowson and his team have an enormous amount of experience in running racing saloons. For the past three years they have run the works Mazda BTCC team, with a four-pot 323 in 1992, then the 6-cylinder Xedos in 1993 and '94. A new-shape, V6-engined 323F has been built up for Slim Borgudd to drive this year under the Team Magic banner, which Borgudd also competes under in the European Truck Racing Championship. Engines are being built in Sweden by Magic Power.
