A POINT HARVESTED AT ZOLDER

Matteo Bobbi had a weekend partially spoiled by contingencies at Zolder in the second to last round of the FIA GT 2008 championship. The Milanese driver, behind the wheel of a MC12 Maserati with his crew mate Pedro Lamy, has been victim of a puncture in the second free practice session and this prevented him to get the most of it.

During the race Bobbi drove the first and third stint. A piece of debris collected in the initial stages of the race caused the damaging of a tyre. This generated strong vibrations that forced him to slow down the rhythm. The final result, eighth place, awarded the GT1 2003 champion with a point.

Matteo Bobbi:

"The 40Kg ballast assigned by rule to these crews that, like ourselves, did not take part to other races of the season influenced our performance. Despite this and some unfortunate episodes, it is always difficult to get yourself into an high level championship and being on the top since the beginning: I cannot be satisfied for an eighth place, but all considered it is not too bad."
