SRO is pleased to announce that Sam Smith has been appointed as the new Head of Communications for the 2013 FIA GT World Series and Blancpain Endurance Series. Sam will manage the Press Office for both series and will attend all of the events next season.

Familiar to many of the teams and drivers in the GT paddock already, Sam attended the Navarra finale in October and familiarised himself with his colleagues and the Blancpain Endurance Series teams.

Beginning his career in Formula 3000 in the early 1990’s, Sam joined the FIA Sportscar Championship after completing his studies.

He spent four years as the series’ Press Officer before moving on to Lola Group in 2002, where he spent a decade as Communications Manager.

Working on Lola’s communications strategies in F3000, Formula 3, Le Mans and A1GP, Sam is a familiar face in the media centres and paddocks of the world. He also contributes articles to many of the leading motorsport publications in Europe.

Sam will work alongside the SRO team from the London office and starts his new role on Monday, December 3rd.
