CAR 113 - DUQUEINE/LESSOUDIER/ROUSSELOT/LACROIX

Coming into the 9th hour in 6th position in G3, car 113 would have to go some to make an impression on the leading G3 Porsche 996, some 8 laps ahead. However, another gaggle of Porsches and one Viper were much closer to hand and the crew set about the task of reeling them in. A black flag at about halfway in the race for intermittent rear lights didn't help. So car 113 dropped back to 11 laps adrift of the class leaders, moving up to 5th position as other cars stopped in this production-based class, where attrition is expected to be a major factor.

Apart from the lighting problem, the car has run very smoothly with few problems. In the cool of the night we have been able to run our Dunlop tyres much longer than either we or Dunlop expected - testament to a good chassis setup and smooth, tidy driving. We think we have tyres in hand for a sprint to the finish that maybe others don't - let's see.

Both Gilles Duqueine and Gael Lessoudier have done double stints. Duqueine is looking a little tired but Lacroix, Lessoudier and Rousselot all look fresh and fit this morning, despite the pressure being felt by everyone in the team. Car Manager Christophe Alary is concentrating hard on one clear goal "the main thing is to finish our first 24h race; we would need some luck to make it to the podium".

After a very difficult first pit stop yesterday, the team has developed into a unit as slick as any in the pit lane and one can see their confidence building with every stop. After the hardest week imaginable there is still a passion to compete by everyone in the team.

CAR 114 - REID/KHAN/VAN SLPUNTEREN/DUMAREY

Retired. But not forgotten. The car looks something of a mess in the garage but doesn't have any structural damage. And Anthony Reid put it on the G3 front row. And it did lead the class for a good while early on. And we had the G3 fastest lap whilst the car was running. And all four drivers want to come back and drive the car again.
