There was rain and sunshine for team Wieth Racing at the Proximus 24h race of Spa - Francorchamps last weekend.

The positive facts were that the car finally proved its reliability and performance. Especially during rain Wolfgang Kaufmann had no problem to follow the leader's times without racing at the edge. There was no necessity for doing that after we unfortunately had two unscheduled pit stops because of water coming inside the cockpit. Before these pit stops the car was positioned at P 9.

Also Elmar Grimm and Last-Minute-New-Driver Thierry Stepec were very happy about the power the new engine delivers.

Only under dry conditions we still have to fight with understeering problems that begin when the tyre gets weaker after ten minutes. But our partner Dunlop already promised us a new tyre to solve this last problem.

After nearly six hours of the race Elmar Grimm - who was doing a great job until then - touched the wall at the F1 straight. Reason for that was aquaplaning caused by the heavy rain that was coming down at that time. The driver was innocent as the data logging showed up afterwards.

Nevertheless the team has a reason to be hopeful for the next FIA GT race as the car was doing more than 12 hours during Free Practices, Qualifyings and Race without any problem...
