It was Bas Leinders who took the start of the race by passing 5 cars in the first lap. Belgian Racing opted for an aggressive strategy by pitting after one lap for the first mandatory pitstop. Renaud Kuppens drove for 50 minutes before giving the car back to Bas Leinders. The Gillet Vertigo was the first car on slicks and it looked like the best solution.

Unfortunately after "bridge" the Belgian driver spun off ending in the gravel. The marshals pulled out the Gillet backwards out of the gravel trap damaging the undertray and it was impossible to continue the race.

Bas Leinders : "The track was still a bit humid but it was driveable with slicks. While braking and shifting down to second gear the rear wheels locked provoking the spin. It is a shame because we had a good strategy and our team worked really well."
