PODIUM AND A BIT OF REGRET AT ALGARVE

Second podium in a row for Paolo Rubert at Algarve (Portugal) in the sixth round of the FIA GT 2009 championship.

The Veronese driver and his crew-mate Matteo Malucelli concluded in third position after having the victory in their hands. Decisive was the safety car deployment when team BMS had already made the driver swap. At that point, teams that hadn't already made the stop could exploit the race neutralization to get into pits. This made the number 77 F430 Ferrari slip down to the third place.

Paolo Ruberti:

"A podium is always a positive result but this time we cannot but have a bit of bitter taste in our mouth for a victory that slipped away in an unexpected way. The second part of the season is turning out to be definitely better than the first; unfortunately, our classification gap is now impossible to fill".

Next round of the FIA GT championship is scheduled for 4 October at Paul Ricard, France.
