ALL-INKL.COM Muennich Motorsport hopes for a weekend without any problems at Portugal - Last work in progress on the car #38 at the Algarve
Friedersdorf/Portimão (rol/ot) The German team ALL-INKL.COM Muennich Motorsport from Friedersdorf wants to forget the terrible home race at the Nurburgring end of August and aims now for the 7th season event of the FIA GT1 World Championship coming weekend (17th to 19th of September) at the Algarve race track at Portugal. ^AIf we are able to drive without any problems the whole weekend we will be able to be up front as well", tells Marc Basseng, the team manager of the racing stable from Saxony of Rene Munnich, before the races 13 and 14.
Certainly Basseng (he will be behind the wheel of the Lamborghini Murcielago LP670 RS-V with starting number 37 together with the French Christophe Bouchut) announced, that the sister car with number 38 of German Dominik Schwager (Munich) and Nicky Pastorelli (Netherland/Italy) still has to be fixed on the track near Portimão. The Muennich-Lamborghini has been damaged very strong at the accident on the Nurburgring. ^AThe whole team did a few night shifts to fix the car in time. We still have to finish the last work on the race course yet but we are confident to manage that in time", underlines the team manager.
That is what German Dominik Schwager hopes for as well, because he wants to make himself a present on his 34th birthday on Saturday (18th of September) being on one of the top positions with his Munnich-Lamborghini #38. So far he has been in the points ranking two times together with Nicky Pastorelli and the third time it has to be at Portugal. Team manager Marc Basseng: ^ABecause of the work on the car we sure couldn't do a lot work according to the performance of the car. Certainly we could exercise a few pit stops with our Bobsleigh team from Altenberg (Germany) and saved a little time again." Because of that as well the whole team is optimistic about getting into the points ranking again.
