UNLUCKY WEEKEND AT PAUL RICARD

Paolo Ruberti had a really unlucky weekend at Paul Ricard in the penultimate round of the FIA GT 2009 championship.

Since qualifying, the number 77 Ferrari F430 GT2 had a problem to the engine and this forced BMS - Scuderia Italia's technicians to replace the unit, which caused the unavoidable penalization with a drive through during the race.

Things did not go much better in the race: the Veronese driver and Matteo Malucelli recovered firmly up to the fourth place, but they couldn't do anything against the two punctures that penalyzed in an almost incredible way their performance ended with the seventh position of class under the chequered flag.

Paolo Ruberti: "We were quite fast and despite starting from the back and the drive through, I think that the second place would have been at our reach, but every chance of getting on the podium vanished due to the punctures. For once, all this had minor importance: Niccolo, my first son, was born last week and I am extremely happy for this".
