Hexis Racing AMR-entered Vantage returns to GT2 action
The Aston Martin Vantage GT2 which shined in the opening round of the FIA GT Championship at Silverstone in the hands of Frederic Makowiecki and Stefan Mucke will make its comeback for the German round at Oschersleben on June 21.
Stefan and Fred displayed a lot of talent and experience during the Tourist Trophy meeting and they will share driving duties again at Oschersleben. French squad Hexis Racing AMR is in charge of running the car and the team will be strengthened by Aston Martin Racing factory engineers and technicians.
In Silverstone, the Vantage proved reliable and fast. The British racer clocked the fastest lap during pre-qualifying practice, a time which was not bettered in GT2 at any time during the week-end, and later set the 3rd fastest lap in the race.
Hexis Racing AMR also aim to maintain their form in FIA GT3 European Championship's 5th and 6th rounds, due to take place during the same Oschersleben meeting. The team will be heading to the Brandenburg venue with high hopes, following Fred Makowiecki and Manu Rodrigues' stunning Adria night race win. The French pair is second in the European Championship table, ahead of the sister Aston Martin DBRS9 driven by Julien Rodrigues and Thomas Accary, and Hexis Racing AMR now holds the lead in the Team standings.
One week before the German round of the FIA GT Championship, the team will be in la Sarthe to support Manu Rodrigues, who will take part in the Le Mans 24 Hours for the first time at the wheel of #99 Ferrari 430 GT2 !
