Improvement and bad luck for Moslers at Oschersleben

The GTO Charouz Racing have a mixed feelings after the first day at Oschersleben which saw free practices and qualifying. There is delight as the Moslem MT900 improved the speed but there is also disappointment after one of the engines failed. Adam Lacko and Ales Jirasek secured the best position of the G2 cars on the grid. Kenneth Heyer and Stepan Vojtech did not have a chance to take part in the qualifying. The new engine is on the way and both red and black cars should start in tomorrow's race.

The Charouz Racing returned to the FIA GT championship after they had missed Adria. The team used the break for work on the American cars and also to negotiation about rules adjustments. "We can feel an improvement," says Adam Lacko. "Our new brakes are better and also bigger restrictor helps was well. It is still not ideal but we are cloer to the GT2 cars now."

Stepan Vojtech was disappointed. He did not do any lap around the track which is a new one to him. His teammate Kenneth Heyer did only five laps in the practice and the engine became quiet. The team immediately ordered a new power unit. The last information says that the team should be able to repair the car in time for tomorrow's warm-up and the race.

"I am very sorry, especially for Stepan who does not know Oschersleben. However, we should be able to fix it in time and be in our full strength tomorrow," says Andreas Leberle, technical director of the GTO Charouz Racing team. "The changes made during the break definitely help but we still want to negotiate with the championship boss Stephane Ratel about further tweaks of the rules to improve our competitiveness."
