Nurburgring Qualifying: What the drivers say ...

The rain held off for this morning's Qualifying session and it was the first time for all the drivers to experience a consistent session so far this weekend. The No.7 Young Driver Aston Martin got the top spot.

Here's what the drivers had to say ...

Darren Turner, Young Driver Aston Martin No.7

"We have pulled off a great turn around here at the Nurburgring so far as we really did struggle for pace last time out at Spa where we failed to get into Q3. Obviously having 20kg removed from the car this weekend has helped speed us up but also the car is genuinely well suited to this type of circuit so it should we a good weekend for us."

Thomas Enge, Young Driver Aston Martin No.7

"The weather has been unstable so far this weekend but it is always an unpredictable element of motorsport anywhere you go. However, everyone is in the same position and we just have to deal with what is thrown at us on the day. I hope it stays dry so we can have a good weekend and the spectators don't need to put the umbrellas up.

"Lower temperatures means a lower downforce set-up which helps us and it is a bonus that our car is well suited to the Nurburgring."

Peter Kox, Reiter Lamborghini No.24

"I am very happy to be second quickest in qualifying this morning and overall it has been a good weekend for me so far as I am also on the front row in the GT3 race. The car has a bit more speed this weekend so I am happy with the progress."

Christopher Haase, Reiter Lamborghini No.24

"I am delighted to be starting on the front row of the grid for today's Qualifying Race, especially with this being my home race. Peter and I both did a great job in our respective stints during the session. I think this is the best result of the season for us and the car has improved a lot since the first race in Abu Dhabi."

Dominik Schwager, All-Inkl.com Munnich Motorsport Lamborghini No.38

"We are quite happy with the performance of the car this weekend as well as a top three in qualifying. The aim is to get a good start in the Qualifying Race and deliver a solid result but the main focus is the Championship Race.

"We haven't always had a great Championship Race at other rounds so we have put ourselves in a good position to do well on Sunday."

Nicky Pastorelli, All-Inkl.com Munnich Motorsport Lamborghini No.38

"We have set up the car for the races so we weren't expecting a good result in this morning's qualifying session. I am obviously pleased and hope that we can continue our good showing in the Qualifying Race."
