Christian Montanari brought home another podium finish at Nogaro: the driver from San Marino drove, together with team-mate Miguel Ramos, his Vitaphone Maserati MC12 to 3rd place at the end of a tight and exciting race. Despite the 40-Kilogram ballast due to last week's win at Brno, Montanari won a spectacular duel with Pierguidi in the early stages, and then kept the same pace of the sister car driven by Thomas Biagi and Michael Bartels.

Unfortunately, Miguel Ramos lost valuable time in a slow pit-stop: without that issue, an even better result could have been achieved. The last round of the season will take off at Zolder in three weeks. As Vitaphone Racing mathematically clinched the teams' title, Montanari now lays second in standings, five points off Biagi.

"I'm satisfied with the good weekend we had at Nogaro. I ended up in third place on an unknown track, and that's definitely positive. We kept a good pace all-race long even with the 40 Kilograms of extra weight imposed by the bureau, and it could have been even better without the troubled pit-stop. As usual, Maserati and the great tires provided by Michelin shown to be a top-class package. I tried to be combative since the start, doing my best to score the best possible result. We're second in standings, together with several other drivers, and we have a 5-point gap from the leader. The last round at Zolder will be decisive: I'm proud to have contributed to Vitaphone Racing's title."
