Sports car pilot Stefan Mucke hopes for the podium at the eights season event of the GT1 World Championship Navarra (Spain)
Berlin/Navarra (rol/ot) German sports car pilot Stefan Mucke started off with new optimism to the eights season event of the FIA GT1 World Championship that is scheduled for the weekend (23rd / 24th of October) with the runs 15 and 16 on the new track at Navarra (Northern Spain). ^ANow we finally want to be on the podium again at this race", told the 28 year old just before his departure on Thursday (21st of October). This time the Aston Martin works driver from Berlin is sharing the cockpit of the DBR9 for the Team Young Driver AMR (Paderborn/Copenhagen) with the Dane Christoffer Nygaard again. Lastly at the runs at the Algarve racing track near Portimão the former Formula 1 pilot Pedro Lamy (Portugal) has been Mucke's driver colleague.
The 3,993 Kilometer long track of Navarra that has been opened this summer is new terrain for most of the drivers of the GT1 championships. Stefan Mucke and his team colleagues have been on this track near Pamplona already at the races of the Spanish GT championships. ^AIt should be a small advantage to have first impressions of this track already", tells the Berlin. ^AThat is a very interesting complex. But the track itself may not be too easy for the DBR9, because it has lots of sharp turns and allows just short acceleration phases", tells Stefan Mucke that has been in between the points ranking two times this season being on position five at a Sunday race and he has been on position three at a Saturday run. ^AI will do my best and I want to give everything to get a place at the podium this time."
