Friedersdorf/Moskau - Four times point rankings to keep the lead and bigger the gap to the next combatants at the team rankings – this is the result for the Team ALL-INKL.COM Muennich Motorsport from Friedersdorf after the premiere of the FIA GT1 World Championship in Moscow with the season races 13 and 14.

The racing stable from Saxony, with two Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3, keeps the lead at the team rankings with a gap of 34 points to the BMW-Team Vita4one Racing.

And the two Münnich pilots Marc Basseng (Neusalza-Spremberg) and Markus Winkelhock (Berglen-Steinach/#38) could gather important points at the drivers ranking as well last weekend (1st/2nd of September) on the 3.931 kilometre long track near the Russian capital with a second position in the Qualifying Race and position five in the Championship Race, both on Sunday for each one hour.

They are only six points behind the leaders Michael Bartels (Germany) and Yelmer Buurman (Netherlands, both BMW). And there is another duo aiming on the title, with Frederic Makowiecki (France) and Stef Dusseldorp (Netherlands), who won the main race in their McLaren MP4-12C and finished fourth in the 13th run. They are on position three at the drivers ranking with eleven points behind the Münnich duo.

Nicky Pastorelli (Italy/Netherlands) and Thomas Jäger (Munich) in the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 with starting number 37 are on position five at the drivers rankings, after they finished on five and eight. Nicky Pastorelli, who already made his way up to position four in the Championship Race, was pushed off track by a Ferrari.

Bad luck for the second Münnich duo. And that is what Marc Basseng, who is a driver and the team manager of ALL-INKL.COM Muennich Motorsport same time, said as well. "Of course it is very sad that our Mercedes #37 couldn’t finish its catch up race until the finish line. But they get points.“

The sister car #38 had more fortune in the Qualifying Race. Marc Basseng made his way up to position three coming from eight in the first lap already. Markus Winkelhock overtook an Audi after the pit stop and secured position two that way, but a few hours later things didn’t turn out that good anymore in the Championship Race.

Winkelhock could overtake a few cars at first with used rain tires. "But since the two McLaren accelerated, he had to let them go. We decided to change tires to new rain tires, because the rain was getting harder and Markus reported aquaplaning“, the team Manager and driver colleague Basseng explained. "Certainly, later we realized that this was a mistake. The new rain tires didn’t have grip at first.“ Because of that, Basseng fell behind. "At the end of the race the pace was getting better and better, but then it was too late.“

Now the whole crew of ALL-INKL.COM Muennich Motorsport is looking forward to the unexpected home race on the Nürburgring. After the changes at the racing calendar of the FIA GT1 World Championship during the summer, the eights season event will take place in Germany from 21st to 23rd of September.
