MONFARDINI SIGNS ON FOR SPA

With the 3rd race of the FIA GT Championship at Adria out of the way and a fourth place finish in the bag, Scuderia Ecosse team are pleased to announce that Ferdinando Monfardini has accepted an invitation to come on board as the third driver for forthcoming 24 hours of Spa race at the beginning of August.

The young and exciting Italian driver who has raced in F3000, GP2, FIA GT and currently the Open GT International series, was much in demand before he confirmed his place as the third driver in car ‘62' for Spa, at Adria on Saturday. Monfardini will be a highly rated addition to the Scottish based Ferrari GT team and will compliment the team's regular driver line-up of Jamie Davies and Fabio Babini, for the gruelling 24 hour race.

Scuderia Ecosse team principal Stewart Roden said, "I am delighted that we have secured Ferdinando for Spa this year as he adds valuable Ferrari 430 racing experience to the Team. It is a bonus that Ferdinando has already worked with Fabio Babini and Jamie Davies. He is very professional and experienced in GT Racing, and a safe pair of hands. Ferdinando was always top of our list and I am confident that he will do a good job for us in Spa".

Ferdinando Monfardini said, "To join such a well organised and competitive team is fantastic for me. Stewart Roden and the team have a great desire to win and with my experience of the Ferrari 430GT2 racecar and the Spa race circuit, I am very confident of a positive result. This will be my third 24-hour race and to be paired with Jamie Davies and Fabio Babini again is an excellent prospect."
