Jose Pedro Fontes will line-up alongside Chris Goodwin in the No. 8 Saleen this weekend at Oschersleben for the ninth round of the FIA GT Championship as Miguel Ramos steps down from the event due to professional and business commitments.

This will be Portuguese born Jose's first appearance in the 2004 FIA GT Championship and will also be his race debut for RML. His motorsport career began over ten years ago in the Portuguese National Formula Ford Championship and he has since won the title twice, in 1995 and 1997.

Jose collected another title in 1999 in the Portuguese National Championship of Speed driving a Alfa 147. Most recently he has contested the National Rally Championship in his home country, finishing 2nd in the standings in 2000/2001 and 3rd in 2002 driving the Fiat Punto Super 1600. In 2003 he finished 2nd in the Vitoria Absoluta Vodafone Golden Cup and he has made a return to the National Rally Championship this year with the Mitsubishi GP.N.

RML's Commercial Director Daryl Cozens commented "It's a shame that Miguel cannot be with the team this weekend, he has been driving very well in the Saleen and the Lola this year. Having said that we are very pleased to have Jose on board".
