JOS MENTEN AND PETER KOX WITH ALL-INKL.COM REITER LAMBORGHINI
After making his début in the international arena in the Le Mans Series in 2006, Jos Menten moved his ambitions to a full-season entry in the FIA GT Championship. The 25-year old talented Dutchman inked a deal with All-Inkl.com Reiter Lamborghini. Together with his fellow countryman Peter Kox he will spur a Lamborghini Murciélago R-GT spec 2007.
The past couple of seasons Peter Kox had a lot of tracktime with the Lamborghini Murciélago R-GT. From the beginning of the Lambo-project, the Brabander was involved in the development of the Italian car. Furthermore Kox won the 24 Hours of Le Mans with Ferrari in 2003, and he was active as a works driver for Aston Martin Racing and the Spyker Squadron.
Reiter Engineering is a German-based company that is specialised in tuning high-class cars, such as the Lamborghini Diablo, Murciélago and Gallardo. Next to their day-to-day business program in their headquarters in Kirchanschöring, Reiter Engineering also develops and runs race cars for Lamborghini. Since 2003 the team of Hans Reiter is responsible for the construction and running of the Lamborghini Murciélago R-GT. In 2005 Reiter Engineering started developing a Lamborghini Gallardo in GT3 spec. At the launch of the European GT3 Championship in 2006 Hans Reiter presented the Gallardo GT3, based on the SE model, with a 5 litre V10 engine under the hood.
Jos Menten: "Last year I learned a lot in the Le Mans Series. I can look back on a solid season with the Corvette C6.R but the results were not always equal to the performances in the cockpit. I am very happy to have agreed terms with Hans and his team. It feels good to be part of the Reiter Engineering family. Sharing the car with Peter offers good perspectives and the team has a lot of experience with the car. We want to battle for the major honours with the Lamborghini Murciélago R-GT."
The 'Lambo' will be entered in the GT1-class, where it will compete with the Corvettes, Aston Martins, Saleens and Maserati's. The FIA GT Championship starts on March 25 in Zhuhai - China.
