Bobbi is in Imola To Get Closer To The Top.

After the summer break, the FIA GT championship takes off again in Imola; the 4th last round of the championship.

Imola is very important for Matteo Bobbi because if he wins or gets a good result, he will only be a few points away from the leaders of the provisional classification. In fact Team-mates Gollin & Cappellari are ahead of the Bobbi- Gardel duo by 13.5 points.

Matteo will "only" have 45kg of ballasts in Imola compared to the 100kg that Gollin and Cappellari will have. This is the right moment to take advantage of this situation and to battle for the world champion title.

"The Imola circuit is very special to me: last year on this track I made my debut in a Formula One car during the Friday free practice session on board the Minardi single seater. There is no denying it, this race is fundamental for Gardel and I who are battling for the world title. We can't allow ourselves to make mistakes and we have to make the most out of having less ballasts than our direct adversaries.

The victory would lead the way towards the title instead a negative outcome would exclude us completely from the chance of getting the title again.

Both my team-mate Gardel and I will arrive in Imola full of energy and keen on doing well. The holidays in August allowed me to "recharge" for this final sprint.

Moreover, our good shape and that of the car were proven at the 24 hours of Spa. Had it not been for Stefano Livio's accident, we could have fought for the first place.

Lamborghini & Maserati will make their debut in Imola and although they are intimidating adversaries, I am not afraid. Better still, this is an extra reason for the fans to come see this race which will surely be thrilling!"
