Grand Am Cup front runner Ken MacAlpine will join Graham Nash Motorsport (GNM) for the final round of this year's FIA GT Championship.
The Toronto based Scot is looking forward to his debut in the World's premier GT Championship and is eager to get behind the wheel of the GNM Porsche GT3RS for the first time.
He joins GNM's resident employee mechanic/driver Stephen Stokoe from the UK, and the experienced ALMS and Grand Am driver Robert Orcutt from California. All 3 drivers will be debuting with GNM, although Stokoe and Orcutt both have a lot of experience driving GT2 and GT3 Porsche derivatives.
Speaking about the deal, Team Principal Graham Nash commented "I believe its a very strong line up in the Porsche. Perhaps overall the strongest we have had this year with all 3 drivers being quick. This will only be the 4th race this year for the Porsche, having raced (and lead the race) at the Daytona 24 hours and then at Spa for the 24hours, and most recently in the FIA Dubai race a few weeks ago".
"We know Stephen very well of course, and although he hasn't raced for a while we know he is quick. Robert drove with us in Daytona at the start of this year and we very fast there. Ken has been racing all season in the Grand Am Cup and was rated as one of the top 5 drivers there. The car is very good too, so we hope for a good solid finish. Of course I it will be very difficult to beat the Freisinger factory cars but we will try to finish in the top 3".
Practice for the 3 hour FIA GT race begins next Thursday 11th, and the race starts on Sunday 14th in the morning, local Chinese time.
