After his positive experience in the 24 hour race in Spa on board the Lister Storm, Gabriele Lancieri and his manager Giovanni Minardi are negotiating a deal to allow the race car driver from Imola to compete in the last race of the International FIA GT Championship in Monza. Giovanni Minardi has many propositions at hand and he is convinced that this championship, which he considers the F1 of the Grand Tourism racing, represent the perfect stage for Lancieri. This year Gabriele Lancieri has competed in: one race in the Euro 3000 Series in Monza (5th place-Uboldi Corse team), the 24 hours of Spa of the FIA GT Championship (4th place with the Lister team) and one race with the ConreroTeam in the Porche Michelin Supercup Trophy.

Gabriele Lancieri
"I believe that the FIA GTchampionship is the ultimate championship for GT Cars: a real championship with talented race car drivers. My objective at the moment is to race in Monza and then we'll see. I would however love to be part of the FIA GT Championship in 2004."

Giovanni Minardi
"I saw Gabriele Lancieri in action in Spa and I'm convinced that the FIA GT championship is a very important challenge for his career. We are evaluating our options and believe that we will shortly be able to announce Lancieri's participation in the Monza race."
