Muhlner Motorsport to run two Porsche 911 GT3 S in the FIA European GT3 Championship

Entries also in the ADAC GT Masters and the German Endurance Championship

Francorchamps. The Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium based Muhlner Motorsport Team will in 2008 once again run in several different series. As so often in their history, the team will operate two teams in the different arenas.

With two of the latest Porsche 911 GT3 S, the team will enter the FIA European GT3 Championship. As there are just 6 rounds to this championship - in Silverstone (UK), Monza (I), Oschersleben (D), Brunn (CZ), Nogaro (F) and Dubai (UAE) -- the cars will also be used for the national ADAC GT Masters series in Germany.

A second team will run up to three Porsche 911 GT3 in the cup class of the German Endurance Championship. "Our involvement in the Nurburgring Nordschleife has been a fixed element of our Motorsport activities since the late 1980s. We've taken part in races across the globe but the Nordschleife remains simply incomparable" says team boss Renate-Carola Muhlner and continues, "There you can only win with a team effort. The technical preparation, the right strategy, good pitwork and last but not least, quick and reliable drivers make for success; that is truly a teamsport"

"In looking for other series to make an involvement, we had the FIA European GT Championship in mind as well as the local national series like the ADAC GT Masters and BELCAR. Now that Porsche have specifically developed a car for this category, the time has come for us to enter the category. The measures which have been taken to keep costs to a reasonable level in the GT3 series are effective so that two drivers sharing a car are offered a lot of seat time on super circuits" explains Bernhard Muhlner the reasons to want to get involved in GT3 racing.

Alongside these programs, Muhlner Motorsport will also be entering several 24-hour races. The Nurburgring in May and the home race at Spa-Francorchamps at the beginning of August are already fixed, others are subject to negotiation.

M-Service continues to support numerous customer teams. Alongside the build of racecars and engine building, engines, gearboxes and complete racecars are rebuilt and repaired in the Francorchamps workshop. If required, customers also receive trackside support at the race circuit. From transport to race support to engineering, the full range of support is available. In addition to these activities, M-Service is also in 2008 an Automobile Industry partner in the automotive testing area.

"It is good to have such a broad base of activities to secure our future. This allows us to be a reliable partner for our customers. Where necessary we can pull resources from one area and put them to another where there is a short term capacity problem" explained Bernhard Muhlner.

Not all driver seats are taken -- which drivers are to run in which championship has not yet been finalised and will be publicised later.
