FIA GT3, POUCHELON RACING, FREE TEST TWO
Having run 2nd of the 41 entries in the morning test, Pouchelon Racing fielded all 3 cars in the 2nd official FIA GT3 test in Oschersleben today. Anthony Reid and Gilles Duqueine in car 29 continued as the quickest pairing with Reid 2nd and Duqueine 4th in the early part of the session.
Meanwhile, Wido Roessler was back out on track after the morning's electrical problem had been resolved but still without partner David Hallyday who was battling the traffic en route from the airport, as every German left work to get home for the World Cup encounter with Argentina. Roessler lapped strongly and his times improved continually. He came in and handed the car to Anthony Reid for a handling assessment, the British driver immediately putting the 30 car 2nd on the timesheet. "The Viper is easy to drive but it takes a particular technique to get the best out of it" Reid said "it takes some time in the car and Wido missed this morning's session".
FIA GT3 debutantes Maxime Dubrulle and Kevin Morel quickly made progress, running as high as 16th on the timesheets at one point. To their great credit, they also brought the car back without problems as well.
At the end of the Friday test sessions, only 4 cars had dipped under 1:31 and two of them were Pouchelon Racing Vipers. With no real problems to tackle, the hardworking mechanics were even looking forward to a good night's sleep. Alex Pouchelon was satisfied with the results "We are always looking to improve our performance but this is a very good start to the weekend" he said, "it reflects the hard work that the team has put into preparing our cars and the effort made by the drivers today".
