REID ON FRONT ROW - AGAIN.

CAR 29 - ANTHONY REID/GILLES DUQUEINE

Reid went out first and was immediately quick, ending the session 2nd fastest. Reid was furious with himself as he got out of the car "it should have been a pole" "I got delayed a little in traffic and was pushing too hard on the exit of Stavelot because it's so vital to a time here" "I put a wheel on the grass and had to back off, and I don't do backing off. It probably cost me 7/10ths".

Gilles Duqueine was determined to go for a good grid position but by the time the tyres were up to temperature the car had developed a problem with the electronic servo which controls the throttle - part of the modifications which allow him to drive with his disability. He was bitterly disappointed with his 13th position, despite being half a second ahead of Klaus Ludwig.

CAR 30 - BENOIT ROUSSELOT/GAEL LESSOUDIER

This car was car 113 in the Spa 24h night qualifying last evening and suffered a driveshaft failure and diffuser damage in the ensuing trip into the gravel. Repairs continued at a furious pace leading up to the GT3 session. Lessoudier took the 1st session and Roussselot the 2nd. Rousselot was in touch with drivers of the calibre of Ian Khan and satisfied to qualify 35th.

CAR31 - STEPHANE LACROIX/MAXIME DUBRULLE

Maxime Dubrulle, back in the Pouchelon Viper after his debut at Oschersleben took the first session. His times continued to improve each lap and he could well be a surprise in the first race. After trips to both the gravel trap and the FIA Stewards office in the Spa 24h qualifying last night, Stephane Lacroix was very cautious, making sure of qualifying and a start in the GT3 races with his 36th position.

Because of the massively ambitious programme this weekend, the Pouchelon Racing team has just 1 hour to re-prepare the cars for the next Spa 24h qualifying session. Can any particularly well-informed pundit out there tell us if any team ever did the Spa 24h AND 2 support races in the same weekend?
