Damax make progress at Paul Ricard and sign Richard Stanton

British FIA GT3 team Damax completed 2 days testing at the Paul Ricard circuit in France, their first test up against the GT3 opposition.

The team finished the test 6th fastest of the GT3 runners, Aaron Scott lapping in 2 minutes 13.8 secs, and were delighted with the performance of the Ascari KZ1R. Team boss Robin Ward said, "This is only the 2nd proper test for the Ascari so we are limited on mileage, nevertheless we were delighted with the speed and reliability of the car. The Porsche 997 is the car we considered to be a bench mark for the GT3 test session and we finished just 6/10ths of a second slower than this car, driven by FIA drivers Jean Marc Gounon and Chris Bouchut. We have some more work to do on the car in readiness for the upcoming FIA homologation. This will certainly see an improvement in the cars pace."

Damax are also delighted to announce that it has signed Richard Stanton to join the team in the FIA GT3 European Championship this season. Robin said, "Richard brings a lot of experience to the team and we are delighted to have him on board. I am sure he will make a valuable contribution to the team."

The team are in discussion with a number of other drivers regarding the remaining 3 seats in the Ascari's and expect to finalise the driver line up very soon.

Damax have also secured a new team sponsor - N.C.Cammack & Son Ltd to join Gigawave and Iveco.
