Damax put miles on Ascari FIA GT3 title challenger

British team Damax completed their first serious test with the new Ascari KZ1 GT3 car which will race in this years FIA GT3 European Championship at Snetterton on Monday and Tuesday.

The Ascari was driven by Aaron Scott as the team started work on its test programme. The team worked through a programme of changes with the car and were delighted with both the performance and reliability of the car. Engineer Steve Ridges said, "I am delighted with the way the test went. We worked through a number of positive changes on the car and gained some excellent data which we can use to improve the car further in readiness for the new FIA GT3 Championship season."

Damax boss Robin Ward was equally pleased with the performance of the Ascari, "Everything worked well with the car, the pace was better than we expected at this stage in the test programme. The whole team is very excited and motivated about the season ahead."

Damax also used the test to help one of its sponsors, Gigawave develop their digital on board camera systems.

The first race of the season will be at Silverstone in England on May 6 & 7.
