Final spurt in the European Championship Last round of the FIA GT3-EC at Zolder

The European motorsport season slowly comes to an end, this weekend's final round of the 2010 FIA GT3-European Championship at Zolder is the last race of this season for Fischer Racing with the Ford GT. For the last two races of the European Championship in Belgium, Fischer Racing has entered one Ford GT. The iconic US-Supercar will be driven by Fischer Racing regular drivers Mikko Eskelinen (FIN) and Christoffer Nygaard (DAN), who is back behind the steering wheel of the Ford GT after missing the last round.

Last season's final at the same track brought a fine success, when Fischer Racing concluded the European Championship with a podium finish at Zolder. A podium finish is also this weekend's target of Eskelinen and Nygaard. The chances for a top-three finish are not too bad, in the last round at Portimao in Portugal, Eskelinen and guest driver Florian Gruber missed the podium only barely, when they finished fourth

"I'm really looking forward to Zolder", Christoffer Nygaard says. "After the great result in Portugal, where Mikko only barley missed the podium, we are top-motivated for the final two races. Mikko drove in Portugal his best qualifying of the season and also one of his best races, so we are quite optimistic for a good result in Belgium. Our Ford GT was very strong at Zolder last season, I think the track suits our car well. During the season, Mikko got a lot more confidence with the Ford GT, I hope we can conclude the season with a podium finish."
