As 2002 draws to a close, the teams and drivers taking part in the various events of the LG Super Racing Weekend series can look back on an extremely successful season. Visiting ten circuits in nine European countries, the sixth season of the FIA GT Championship and the second season of the renewed FIA European Touring Car Championship shared the LG Super Racing Weekend events with the Formula Renault 2000 Eurocup, the Renault Sport Clio Trophy and the Lamborghini GTR Supertrophy. Other series, such as the Volvo S60 Cup and the BMW Formula Junior, took part in occasional rounds. From the spring sunshine at Magny Cours, through the torrential rain at Anderstorp, to the autumn winds in Estoril, the spectators came out to watch the action-packed races, both at the track, and, with steadily growing audience figures, on television.
* Eurosport will be showing the LG Super Racing Weekend Season Review on the 18th December between 17:30 and 18:30 CET.
* The FIA held its annual Awards ceremony in Monaco on Friday 13th December. The Drivers and Teams Champions from the FIA GT Championship, and the Drivers and Manufacturers' Champions from the FIA European Touring Car Championships were there to accept their awards. A selection of photographs from the ceremony is now available on the FIA web site (www.fia.com). The pictures are available free of charge for publication in the media, but the copyright remains and belongs to the FIA, and it is requested that magazines which publish the pictures should mention the FIA as a by-line.
* The regular newsletters in the build-up to the 2003 season will start in mid-January, and will appear fortnightly until the first round, which will take place at Barcelona on April 6th 2003.
