30 August 2006 - The sixth round of FIA GT championship will be on stage this weekend at the French circuit of Digione. The leaders of the classification Matteo Bobbi and Jaime Melo will have to work intensely together with AF Corse Team guys in a way to minimise the effect of the 60kg of handicap weight assigned to the F430 Ferrari number 58.

With five races still to go, the fight for the FIA GT 2006 title sees Mika Salo and Rui Aguas only one point behind the couple Bobbi-Melo, leading with 41 points, while Kinch and Kirkaldy hold the third place with 30 points.

The weekend programme schedules two free practice sessions for Friday afternoon and Saturday morning while, at 15.15 of Saturday, the twenty-minutes-long challenge for the pole position will take place. On Sunday, after the usual morning's warm up, the race will start at 13.30.

Matteo Bobbi:
"60kg ballast are quite a few! Anyway we have already proved that we can be very competitive even with many handicap kilos on board. We are at the lead of the championship: our race will be oriented to keep risks at the minimum while obtaining useful points for the final classification. For the time being we have to spend our efforts in finishing all the races and trying to get on the podium."
