A fortnight after his double victory at Circuit Zolder, during the ADAC GT Masters, Jos Menten is now heading on down to Adria (Italy) for the seventh round of the FIA GT championship. After a break of almost five weeks Menten will once more be at the wheel of the Lamborghini Murcielago R-GT of HD Gigawave Reiter Engineering. Particular about this race is that the free practice and qualifying sessions are both being held on Friday. The race will take place on Saturday evening, from 19.45 until 21.45hrs
"We have broken through the negative spiral. We clinched our first points in the FIA GT championship at Oschersleben. With a bit of luck we could even have ended up on the podium . but we've now closed that chapter. We quite clearly showed our worth during the 24 Hours of Spa. Peter's sixth best time might have come as surprise for a lot of people, but not for us. The car improves race by race, and without traffic we might even have landed up on the second row of the grid. But the race itself didn't work out for us. Persistent problems with the drive shaft, and later the differential forced us to retire", Jos Menten commented.
"Those two victories in the ADAC GT Masters obviously give us additional trust", the 26 year old Dutchman continued. "Adria should be ideal for us. Let's just hope that all the pieces of the puzzle fit perfectly."
