MATTEO BOBBI'S EXPECTATIONS A FEW DAYS BEFORE THE OPENING ROUND OF THE FIA GT1 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

The new FIA GT1 World Championship is officially starting this Friday at Abu Dhabi on the Yas Marina circuit. The level of this competition announces to be particularly high, featuring the participation of several drivers with a Formula One past as well as most of the most important names of endurance races, among which Matteo Bobbi, winner of the 2003 title. The Milanese champion will be at the wheel of the MC12 Maserati of Triple H Team Hegersport forming a crew with Bert Login.

The season's calendar is articulated on ten rounds that will take the series also in Europe and South America. The standard format of racing weekends schedules two free practice runs of 80' on Friday, 45' qualifying split in three elimination heats and the "Qualification Race" of 60' on Saturday, followed by the "Championship Race" of 60' on Sunday that awards more points.

Matteo Bobbi:
"The championship promises to be extremely interesting and we are confident to be able to be among protagonists. At this point it is anyway difficult to foresee the competitiveness level we will manage to exhibit: the performance balancing has been very severe with Maserati cars and this will have an impact on our results. The team accomplished an amazing work in preparation of the championship and we hope this will allow us to aim at a good result.
