Swann tempts sponsor to co-drive on pre Wales Rally GB test.

British Rally Championship regular Rob Swann has persuaded long time supporter Warren McKiernan, the managing director of Revolution Wheels, to call the notes for him on the forthcoming Tempest Rally.

Bishop Stortford based Rob has had a mixed season so far, showing an increase in pace on both tarmac and gravel and missed out on a podium position on the treacherous Isle of Man International by less than half a second back in July! With his Geoff Jones Motorsport run Subaru Impreza N12 having had a complete rebuild Rob is using the Tempest Rally as a shakedown ahead of Wales Rally GB, the finale round of the 2007 Tesco 99 Octane MSA British Rally Championship.

I'm not going to be going flat out this weekend as the Tempest is just a test for the car ahead of Wales Rally GB. And as Warren has been a keen supporter of mine and a true enthusiast of the sport for many years we thought it would be nice for him to co-drive for me. We're just going out there to have a bit of a laugh really.

Warren's company, Revolution Wheels, supplies competition rims to not only British Rally Championship contenders but also to a large portion of the Historic Rally Championship. With experience gained working in conjunction with works teams such as Mazda and Opel in the 1990's the company is a major contender in the supply of aluminium competition rims.

The Tempest Rally takes place just south of London. With a central service park in Pegasus Village in Aldershot and all of the stages located close by this is widely recognised as one of the best rallies of the year.
