The Dulux Trade MSA British Rally Championship is delighted to announce Rallye Sunseeker International as its new opening event for 2011, increasing the British Isles' premier rally series to seven events.

The addition of the Bournemouth based rally (subject to MSA Approval) fills the south of England gap in the geographical spread of the championship and running on 25th and 26th February means an earlier start to the season.

The gravel event will feature a Friday ceremonial start on Poole Harbour with the traditional Somerley Park Rally Show and spectator stage forming part of Saturday's 65 mile route.

Championship Manager Mark Taylor: "We reviewed our annual competitor survey and have responded to the demand for another event, so I'm delighted that we have secured Rallye Sunseeker as a qualifying round of the Dulux Trade MSA British Rally Championship. The team does a fantastic job running a high profile well organised event in a key area geographically for the championship."

Rally Director Rick Smith: "When we became the first round of the National Championship 25 years ago, Southern Car Club had a vision of what we believed a popular rally should be like; since that time we have always striven to achieve the highest ideals in everything we do. Be it paperwork, promotional opportunities, visibility to wider public, spectator facilities, stage format and even good old razzamatazz."

"Rallye Sunseeker has delivered those objectives. It is testimony to the hard work put in by everyone of our organising team (past & present) that for 2011 we stand on the threshold of a new golden era - round 1 of the Dulux Trade MSA British Rally Championship. Our aim is to extend a welcome to competitors in Britain's premier rally championship, while still embracing all our friends from National, Regional, Historic & Military series. Roll on the last weekend in February 2011."

After MSA approval the full 2011 Dulux Trade MSA British Rally Championship calendar will be announced as soon as possible following this weekend's Rally NI, part of the Toddsleap.com Ulster Rally in Antrim.
