Hockridge buoyed by strong tarmac test

Pwllheli resident Andrew Hockridge heads to this weekends International Rally Isle of Man in confident spirits following a recent successful test across the Irish Sea when he finished a strong second in class on the Ravens Rock Rally.

Andrew was across in Ireland using the event to gain more mileage in his Signature Cheese backed Citroen C2R2 Max, and was pleased to find more pace in both himself and his car. Part of this was down to some set up changes but Andrew was also driving to his own pacenotes for the first time.

I have always modified the organiser's notes in the past but felt that I lacked confidence in them in the fast stuff and so wrote my own notes on Ravens Rock. This worked really well and with faith in your notes being critical on the Isle of Man I'm confident that we'll have a good run this weekend.

Andrew and co-driver Rich Mills have a good record on the Isle of Man. After finishing second in class on this event last year the pair dominated the category when they visited the island for the non championship Manx National earlier this year.

The two day rally, which features twenty high speed stages around the island's closed public roads, starts early on Friday morning and ends with a ceremonial finish at the TT Grandstands in Douglas on Saturday afternoon.
