Another successful showing for Hansport's Awesome Audi
Manchester based Group B rally car preparation and restoration firm Hansport enjoyed another successful outing with their ex Michele Mouton Audi quattro S1 when they attended last weekends Chatsworth Rally Show.
Driven by John Hanlon, the Audi quattro performed faultlessly for both days, delighting the spectators who had been enticed out by the glorious sunshine. Run in the grounds of the notable Chatsworth House near Chesterfield, the two day show attracted top teams and drivers from across the globe, and John was privileged to have been included on the list.
Once again the old girl performed her magic. The guys, Ian Pilkington, Gareth Owen and Eddie Meir, did an excellent job of preparing her. The Audi ran faultlessly for both days and judging by the crowd of spectators we had gathered around the car in service, a lot of people appreciated our efforts.
Caroline Bessy, 22, from Birmingham was one of the many fans entranced with the quattro My boyfriend brought me to the show to see the Subarus and to watch Marcus Gronholm, but the fire bellowing Audi was definitely my favourite! Especially when I found out it used to be driven by a woman! Now I've told my boyfriend to get rid of his boy racer Scooby and buy a real man's car!
The Audi, which was used by Michele Mouton to win the famous Pike's Peak Hillclimb in 1985, has been fully restored by Hansport and now features at most Slowly Sideways shows, as well as various other events throughout the U.K and Europe.
