Hockridge forced to sit out Pirelli

2008 C2R2cup runner up Andrew Hockridge was forced to sit out last weekends Pirelli International Rally after Citroen Sport failed to deliver parts for his Signature Cheese backed Citroen C2R2 Max on time.

Phweli based Andrew suffered a fraught Bulldog International Rally of North Wales earlier in the season after his brand new factory built C2R2 Max was involved in a road accident the day before the rally. Although Andrew and co-driver Rich Mills managed to complete the event the suspension was sent away to Citroen in France to be rebuilt. Three weeks and many phone calls later there was still no sign of the parts and with phone calls being ignored Andrew had no option but to pull out of the rally.

This is very frustrating and deeply concerns me. I have spent a great deal of money with Citroen and yet they cannot provide the spares back up that they promised at the start of the season. We had hoped that spare suspension legs would be carried by the Citroen representatives on each rally but were told on the Bulldog that they did not have the necessary parts for my car. And so we sent the complete leg away to France to be rebuilt. They appear to have lost our parts and sent us an incomplete kit.

We are now two rounds into the championship and I have a fourth place and a zero score, which is not ideal.

Andrew currently has plans to contest the non championship Manx Telcom Rally on the Isle of Man as a test ahead of the next four tarmac rallies but is awaiting news from Citroen on the whereabouts of his parts.
