POWERBOAT P1 LAUNCHES 2010 SEASON IN CROATIA

As evidence of its growing role as the premier marketing platform for the worldwide marine industry, Powerboat P1 has announced an agreement with the Croatian city of Split to host the opening round of the 2010 World Championship season. The announcement comes more than a month ahead of the 2009 season kick-off in Malta. The race will be held in conjunction with the renowned Croatia Boat Show, which has been held in this historic, coastal city for the past 11 years.

''We are delighted to have concluded arrangements with the promoters, the City and the Boat Show organizers for what promises to be an excellent showcase for P1 in the Adriatic,'' said P1 Commercial Director Robert Wicks. ''This event will generate significant income for the local economy, extend its tourist season and P1's extensive global media coverage will help to raise the profile of the city and the country as a leading watersports destination,'' added Wicks.

P1 Goes to Coatia

The event will be promoted locally by Tomislav Misetić, of A.M. Info Media. ''We recognize the value and potential of Powerboat P1 and what it can add to a city as an international destination," he said, "Given our experience in the local marine industry and our enthusiasm for the sport of powerboat racing, we felt this was the perfect opportunity to showcase the city of Split to the world and is an ideal partnership between Powerboat P1, the city of Split and the Boat Show.''

Details of the event date and specifics to the location will be released in the coming months.

Powerboat P1 launches its 2009 season the weekend of May 8-10 in the Mediterranean island nation of Malta, which will be hosting its sixth Grand Prix of the Sea, and the World Championship will then move on to Turkey, Sweden, Italy and the island Kingdom of Bahrain over the next six months.
