POWERBOAT P1 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP TO HONOR 2008 WINNING MANUFACTURERS AT MIAMI INTERNATIONAL BOAT SHOW

Miami, FL - Powerboat P1 World Championship, the international offshore boat racing league, will present its 2008 Evolution Class Championship Manufacturer Awards to the winning hull and engine builders at the 2009 Miami International Boat Show on Friday, February 13 at 11:00 a.m. The press conference will take place at the Fountain/Baja display, booth C 57 in the Miami Beach Convention Center.

For the second year, the awards will be presented to Fountain Power Boats and ILMOR High Performance Marine in recognition of the 2008 winning season of the "Fountain Worldwide/1st4boats.com" pilots James Sheppard and Craig Wilson, who won impressive back-to-back world titles in their Fountain Lightning 43 powered by twin ILMOR 645-horsepower, 8.3 litre V-10 marine engines.

Fountain Worldwide Evo Boat plows through the waters at Portimao Wilson, president of Fountain Worldwide, Fountain Powerboats' international distributor, will be on hand to congratulate his sponsors accepting the awards, ILMOR High Performance Marine President, Paul Ray and Fountain Power Boats Chief Executive Officer, Reggie Fountain, Jr.

"These awards recognize the excellence demonstrated by these manufacturers and the value of Powerboat P1 as the premier global marketing platform for the marine industry," says P1 Commercial Director Robert Wicks, who will present the awards in Miami. "This second annual award further recognizes the leadership roles of ILMOR and Fountain, whose early participation in Powerboat P1 encouraged a host of other U.S. marine manufacturers and teams to participate which helped spur the growth of our race series," he added.

The 2009 Powerboat P1 Grand Prix of the Sea series kicks off in Malta in May and concludes in late fall in Bahrain, in the Middle East.
