Dave Scott and crew bring home fifth win of the season

"We had a clean start this weekend, and Team CRC and Team Geico ran with us halfway down the first straightaway. Once we got the water figured out, we were able to keep the boat down, skip across the waves and put the hammer down. We got into the first turn probably four or five boat lengths in front of everyone else."

"This was our first rough water race since San Juan, Puerto Rico last year. It was a fun racecourse. The boat was really dialed in and everything was running well. We had a port engine problem on the third lap, and we still aren't quite sure what happened yet. We'll look at it this week and figure it out before we race again in Missouri."

"As I looked down at the gauges throughout the race, I noticed our fastest speed occurred when we were going into turn one. We were running about 118 to 120 MPH at that point. Most of the time, we were running between 112 and 114 MPH. Across the back stretch, we'd slow it down to about 108 MPH because of some of the rough spots."

"We could run the fastest on the straightaway, but going into turns one and two, we would encounter some big waves about four-footers. We would have to set the boat up for those, keeping it nice and level, trying to skip over the tops of those waves. In the meantime, we were also trying to keep our momentum up."
