Mirageboats.com Returns To Seattle For Repairs

Fred Leland announced today that his boat the U-100 Mirageboats.com driven by Greg Hopp (Snohomish, Wash.) has returned to Seattle to undergo repairs suffered in the final heat of Sunday's Madison Regatta Indiana Governor's Cup. Leland reported significant hull damage.

Ever the competitor, Fred said that he wished that the repairs could have been made in time for this week's Chrysler-Jeep APBA Detroit Gold Cup, but that there was not time or a facility available to get the job done properly.

A field of nine ABRA unlimited hydroplanes will now compete for the historic 100th running of the APBA Gold Cup event.

Qualifying starts Friday morning at 8 a.m. on the Detroit River with racing all day Saturday and Sunday.
