Austin, TX (May 14, 2001) --- IHBA Promotions President Bobby Finley is recovering from shoulder replacement surgery on Wednesday, May 2. Finley has been resting and working from his home in Austin. He plans on returning to the IHBA national event tour at the IHBA Nitro Nationals in Red Bluff, California, May 25-28.

"I am very happy with the results from the surgery," said Finley. "It will be a slow recovery process but I should be back to full strength in a few weeks. I am excited about getting back on the tour and our upcoming event in Red Bluff."

Finley has had two unsuccessful shoulder surgeries prior to the replacement surgery.

The International Hot Boat Association (IHBA) is the premier sanctioning association for drag boat racing in the United States. The IHBA is dedicated to producing top-level motor sports events across the country by sanctioning 16 events at the national and divisional levels. The 2001 IHBA national series is a twelve-event tour covering California, Arizona, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, North Carolina, and Georgia, with a $1.5 million purse, reaching over 300,000 fans, and culminating with the crowning of the IHBA World Championship at Firebird International Raceway in November.
