Tim Seebold Takes Roar of the Rockies
Championship To Be Determined at Season Finale at San Diego
(Windsor, Colo.) - Tim Seebold successfully defended his title today at the Roar of the Rockies at Windsor, Colo., the fifth race of the Laughlin Formula One P.R.O.P. Tour presented by Bud Light. It is Seebold's second win this season and 10th career Formula One P.R.O.P. Tour victory, only three behind his brother Mike for the all-time record.
"After finishing second at Saskatoon and third at Tri-Cities, I was really looking forward to another opportunity to win a race," said Seebold. "We have a tremendous boat and I know we have the ability to win at each venue. This season is shaping up to be very exciting and I am looking forward to winning my third Formula One P.R.O.P. Tour Championship and dethroning my brother."
The 40-lap Formula One final was contested for the second time on the scenic waters of Rockbridge Lake. Alden Thornton took the early lead in the race with Greg Foster and Terry Rinker battling behind him. On lap 13, Foster and Rinker came together forcing the race to be stopped. After the restart, Thornton again took command and led the race until suffering a broken fuel pump on lap 35. Tim Seebold took advantage of Thornton's troubles to secure the victory and was able to successfully defend a title for the second time this season. Seebold also defended his Laughlin River Days title at the first race of the season.
Jason Campbell finished second, his highest finishing position this season, and Max Toler followed in third, his third podium finish this season. Rounding out the top five was Todd Bowden and Todd Beckman.
