Sydney de Andres carries out the first Spanish Back-Flip in Barcelona
Barcelona, 22 November of 2004 - The American rider of Honda, Nick Way, has won in a perfect night, wrapped by 13,600 spectators who have filled the gauging of the Palau Sant Jordi. Way has adjudged his second victory in the SX the International of Barcelona (year 2000). Damon Huffman, winner of the 2003 edition of the International Supercross of Barcelona, finished second, and Mickael Musquin finished third.
"Barcelona is always a success; I think that those that have come to give spectacle have connected with the public, who has been very cosy with me, although I have beaten to his idol. Obtain one second victory in this seat is a profit for me"
Without a doubt one of the algid moments of afternoon has been the 250 c.c final. The Barcelona's public has vibrated with one of the best duels in track never seen in this competition. Vico led the race towards the end but finally he was surpassed by Way, who carried out a great one overcome. The French Mickael Musquin was third. At the end of this Final the French pilot Pascal Lauret, current leader of the championship of France, the SX Tour, offered an unattended kick in the right eye to Vico. It was a sad spectacle.
Benjamin Coisy, current leader of the SX Tour, was unbeatable in the 6ª Event of the 125c.c. French Championship. In fact, the Coisy's Honda was faster than the 250c.c. in the qualifying sessions. Coisy fully dominated the 125 cc Final from the start to finish. In the Superfinal he got to be placed behind Nick Way, but a manoeuvre with Sebastian Pourcel separated him from the leading positions.
"I think that I am beginning to improve, and that my race in the USA has given to me security and mainly experience. I do not think that I am going to run faster with a 250c.c. I still have a lot to learn in this category ".
In the show jumping contest, (Xtreme Jump), Sydney de Andres has won with 115.3 decibels, being the first Spanish who executes a "Back Flip" in the International Supercross of Barcelona.
