Abernethy promoted to Senior Director of Marketing for Motorcycles.
AURORA, Ill. (October 18, 2002) - Clear Channel Entertainment's motor sports division today announced the appointment of Mark Abernethy to senior director of marketing, motorcycles.
Abernethy, a 1996 graduate from Iowa State University in marketing, has been with Clear Channel Entertainment since 1997, working originally as a promotion manager and more recently as the director of marketing for supercross and arenacross. In addition, he has recently served as the point person for the marketing of the two international events which are a part of the FIM World Supercross GP in Geneva, Switzerland and Arnhem, Holland.
"Mark's experience with our supercross and arenacross properties over the years has provided him a valuable foundation to take on the marketing responsibilities for our entire motorcycle division," said Ken Hudgens, vice president of marketing, Clear Channel Entertainment - Motor Sports. "What Mark has accomplished in a short amount of time is amazing. I expect him to take our motorcycle marketing to the next level."
In his new position, Abernethy will oversee the national, local, and event marketing for all of Clear Channel Entertainment's motorcycle properties, including supercross, arenacross, freestyle motocross, dirt track, and road racing.
Dan Krolczyk, the former senior director of marketing for Clear Channel Entertainment's motorcycle properties, will take over as the director of business development for Clear Channel Entertainment's Minnesota region.
