Californian Melissa Paris has achieved much since her pro debut with AMA in 2009. She was the first woman to qualify and race in a World Supersport event (Miller Motorsports Park, 2009), she was invited to test the Yamaha M1 MotoGP bike (Valencia, 2011), and in 2013 achieved a top ten finish in the prestigious Daytona 200.

The progress Paris has been made since her late entry into the sport has been great and the American rider doesn’t want to miss the opportunity to improve and show her talent in the world’s most demanding national championship. Starting in 2014, the Spanish Roadracing Championship will be run under the direction of the FIM, with more international impact. The Championship will be comprised of 7 event weekends (8 for the Moto 3 class) with a total of 10 races for each category.

Melissa had the opportunity to test already late last season at Albacete during the FIM Women’s Roadrace Training Camp, which took place during the European Championship. In that event Stratos Racing Team came out on top of the Superstock 600 class, winning the championship aboard the same Kawasaki ZX6-R which Melissa will pilot for 2014.

Melissa Paris @meligirl13:

“I am so excited for this new adventure. Racing in the Spanish Championship will be a great opportunity to raise my level. I feel very blessed to be riding for a team with a history of so much success. Thank you so much to Stratos and also to the Women’s Sports Foundation for making this happen. I’m also very grateful for Joe Rocket and all of my personal sponsors who continue to support me!”
