Dustin Miller completes sweep in Spokane.
IFMA Freestyle Motocross makes second annual stop at the Spokane Arena.
SPOKANE, Wash. (September 21, 2002)-- Coming off a couple of last place finishes in Phoenix, Kenny Bartram returned and put together a strong weekend of freestyle motocross. Challenging Bartram were Dustin Miller, Drake McElroy and"The Rookie" Adam Jones for the IFMA win. The weekend was filled with huge tricks and a few crashes, all of which kept the crowd pumped and looking for more.
Friday night Adam Jones put together a qualifying run that would make Mad Mike proud, but after giving the crowd a free-bee, Jones took a hard fall trying to pull off a"Tsunami Kiss of Death". Shaken up, but not seriously injured, Jones went on to finish seventh. Beau Bamburg drew first rider duties, scoring a 92.7 secured the number one qualifying spot. Bamburg would not ride again until it was time to challenge Dustin Miller for the Hot Seat. Miller's 93.3 was enough to hold off Bartram and Bamburg as Miller wins night one in Spokane.
Saturday night Nate Adams put together a strong showing after a disappointing first night to keep Dustin Miller on his toes. Adams scored a 93.5, enough to knock out Drake McElroy and his score of 93.3. Last up was Miller who stood tall under the pressure, throwing two or three variations of the"Rock Solid" and landing several no-handed landers, Miller's score of 93.7 was enough to complete the weekend sweep. Kenny Bartram finished fourth, enough to keep the overall lead in IFMA points standings with a lead of only 32 points over Dustin Miller.
"I am excited to win, I'm having a lot of fun. Everyone is riding so good, the competition is getting better and better every week," said Dustin Miller after Saturday's win.
