The Cowboy Rules Southern California
San Diego, CA. (November 15, 2003) - San Diego, California is a Mecca of motocross and this weekend its lofty status was once again reaffirmed. After several weeks of hardship caused by devastating fires the Southern Californians proved their resiliency by coming out to support two nights of high flying freestyle motocross action.
Friday Night -Kenny Bartram showed that he is still the big dog of freestyle motocross. Bartram back flipped perfectly and that took home the hardware. Beau Bamburg threw out a backflip at the start of his final run but came up just short on the landing. Beau kept cool and rode nearly flawlessly for the rest of his final round. Two dead sailors forced Myles Richmond's final run into the third spot.
Saturday Night - Kenny "The Cowboy" Bartram took over the land of the Chargers for a second night in a row. The Cowboy pulled an amazing run with a back flip over a 73' gap. Beau Bamburg qualified number one but had trouble continuing that success during the final round. The second round was full of exciting action including Jimmie McGuire pulling a surprise win in the stoppie contest. The big story was still Kenny Bartram winning both nights and taking the lead into the final round in Kansas City on December 5th & 6th.
