IFMA Freestyle Motocross Rocks the Rockies
DENVER, Colo. (January 26, 2002) - This week the IFMA was in the home of the 2001 Stanley Cup Champions, the Colorado Avalanche. Leading into this weekends event, "The Cowboy" Kenny Bartram was undefeated; winning all four IFMA competitions he has entered. Tommy Clowers, Mike Jones and Jeff Tilton headed the field of riders trying to take the spotlight from Kenny at the Pepsi Center.
Friday night Kenny Bartram came out strong, showing off the "superman nothing" that has yet to be matched in competition. Mike Jones and Tommy Clowers put together strong runs but did not have enough to hold off Kenny. New comer Andy Jones, riding in just his second IFMA event, finished in the top 10 along with Jeff Tilton and Beau Bamburg.
"I have been working hard on the "superman nothing" in the last couple of weeks, I am really comfortable pulling it off now," said Kenny Bartram on Friday night.
Saturday night started much like Friday ended. Kenny Bartram put together a flawless opening run and was the number one qualifier for the second consecutive night. Tommy Clowers and Mike Jones qualified second and third respectively. Once again Kenny's "superman nothing" impressed the crowd and the judges enough to take the IFMA's "Hot Seat" away from number two qualifier, Tommy Clowers.
"This is now six in a row for me in IFMA competitions. I guess I am in a zone," said Kenny Bartram Saturday night
